So... You want to start a Garden...

Use these affiliate links for reference. If you use them it helps me and doesn't cost you anything extra. The key points are knowledge, not product...
1. Assure you have a dedicated space for your hydroponic garden unit(s).
2. Assure the temperature range for that area is compatible with survivability of plants.
3. Definitely make sure whatever product you buy has an integrated light/pump timer/controller! You do not want a manual only system. Just fill up with water, plant seeds/pods, plug-in, walk away.
4. these work best with short-cycle leafy greens and herbs. You can start and grow peppers and tomatoes - but be realistic what those little growing cells can support. These work great for germinating and starting transplants however - I transplanted hundreds of pepper, lavender, tomato, herb, squash, and other seedlings from my Aerogarden with the high density cell grid upgrade.
5. Be realistic and honest with what you are trying to accomplish, and temper that with what you truly know you are capable of accomplishing.

You will find hundreds of different hydroponic systems for every budget. I personally own and use the Gardyn and AeroGarden products because that is what we started with, and because Gardyn itself is an Arizona company.

CHOOSE based on YOUR BUDGET not based on these specific affiliate links. The value of my video is in helping you to understand and decide what works best for your individual needs.

This is our Gardyn walls. Remember, you will also need to order from their catalog of seed cartridges that go with this. Advantages: Top shelf product and after-market relationship. Brandee orders new seeds from them all the time and they have an impressive variety of heirloom and non-GMO seed varieties.

AeroGarden - they are like the OG of easy to get started, manufactured hydroponic package systems. They have different sizes and options. Advantages are these are small, lightweight, countertop, easy to setup and maintain. You can also increase the cell density to mas germinate your own crops, like a mini nursery.

These are the ones I showed setup on the shelf, and the high-density cell insert/upgrade...

There are MANY variations and competitors in this space!! Choose based on YOUR REASEARCH and YOUR BUDGET! For fair comparison, this is the first random off-brand cheaper one I saw on Amazon -- Look at the difference in LED's vs. the higher cost/quality options I shared in my video...

If you would like to go full OCD organized seed bank and spend a good chunk of change on plastic cases full of plastic cases, these are the ones I bought:

If you want to just store all your seed packets in a bigger, unsorted container and put them in the freezer or a cool dark place, that is all that Teddy does. I think the 35mm film cannisters are the best system so far, but you don't get to keep the package with them unless you fold up the important part of the packet and place in the film case, or put the film case in the packet, which would be more awkward than just leaving the seeds in their packet.

You decide what works best for you!

trooperChannel Travel & Field Sleep System

Always the basics:

Hydration - Sanitation - Temperature Control

This is filed under Temperature Control

As always, I have included the BEST Value-to-Use Case/applicability option, which means it is the best fit for the use or task being demanded of it, with cost being as low as possible but not so low that you are just wasting money on trash. This is the absolute best fit for the use - which sometimes is the cheapest, most expendable thing.

I have also included the absolute best Premium Quality option if you have the budget. Sometimes this is just the only option because anything less is a waste of money or inadequate. In cases where I add a Premium option, I will explain WHY it is premium over the best value-to-applicability option.

In cases where only one option is provided: That is the best option regardless of what else is allegedly better, cheaper, or brand recognized. If I only list one option, don't waste money getting a name brand alternative or waste twice as much money getting a cheaper useless alternative that will fail and result in needing to replace that with the suggested thing you should have got the ...

First Aid and Trauma Care...

Four key points on "Medical" (I'll do a video) -
1) Basic First Aid

  • Standardized classes, focus on wound hygiene awareness - which is by far the most important aspect of basic wound care.

2) TCCC/Stop the Bleed

  • Heavy Bleeds; Arteries; Tourniquet & packing - Casualty temperature control and evac - good to know, and thankfully (hopefully continues to be) uncommon but critical to know.

3) ALS - Advanced Life Support - out of our scope.
4) trooperCare training

  • Focused on real world acute and management of chronic wounds when support/evac/clinical treatment is not an option.

I am developing this training and will release it as free videos with an eventual full class option.

Remember: We are NOT doctors or ALS trained/equipped persons. The real threat of injury is infection/sepsis/MRSA/CDiff/Amputation from unmanaged would consequences. I focus on health and sanitation management.

Everyone should complete a basic first aid class (even online) and a Stop the Bleed class (This should be in ...
